Operation Overlord

Operation Overlord is a WW2 airsoft game organized by Tulitehtävä events.

The event is set in a D-Day +1 setting, with allied troops clashing against the defending Germans.


The Allies have begun the D-Day landings in Normandy to liberate France from Nazi occupation. Following the successful landings, Allied ground forces on the beaches and further inland dropped paratroopers have begun advancing inland, as the Germans scramble to organize new defensive lines to stop the advance.


General

-The game is historical airsoft with equipment limits and milsim elements. Each side perform their own tasks in the game, given through the chain of command. The game uses various unusual game mechanics.
-Playing area Järvenpää airsoft's Veikkola playing area in Tuusula, expanded. 
-Game fee 15e in advance payment, 20e on site.
-Age limit 15 years, younger players must be accompanied by an adult or separately agreed upon. 
-Game uses the regular Tulitehtävä events rules.

Arrival

Arrival at Seutulantie 150, Tuusula. Parking instructions on the side of the game area, players have the opportunity to take their belongings closer to their own base. However, cars must be parked in the actual parking area in the farm yard during the game.


Factions and equipment limits


US infantry/Airborne and UK vs Germany WH/SS. Factions are identified by their equipment, which is why you must have a minimum amount of equipment to enter the game. The minimum equipment is considered to be a uniform, belt and headgear of your faction. 
Newer models shoes are allowed, it is strongly recommended to use gaiters in this case.
 
The listed equipment is recommended gear and does not cover the entire range of equipment used in the war.
We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the topic and the equipment seen in the battles the game is based upon when assembling your loadout for the event.



US, Infantry

    -M37, HBT uniforms, M41 jacket

US, Airborne

    -M42 paratrooper suit

Germany

    -M40, M42 tms. wool uniforms, German summer uniforms ja war era camo uniforms.
    -German belt with buckle and accomodating pouches
    -German stahlhelms, field and visor caps

    -Leather boots, M37 or M43 field shoes with gaiters


All World War II era and older weapons are accepted. However, we recommend the weapons you choose to fit the rest of your kit and to favor standard issue rifles when possible (e.g. M1 Garand for US Airborne, Kar98k for WH, etc.). All traditional bolt-action rifles with wooden stocks (e.g. VSR-10) are acceptable as stand ins. Any modern attachments or rails should be removed or covered up, only snipers may use optics.


Some equpiment may be available for loan, you can ask for these (and any general questions) from the games Discord channel or via email.
